SUMMARY
Vanesa Fernández-Moreira obtained her BSc and
MPhil in Chemistry at University of Vigo (Spain) in 2005. Then, she
moved to Cardiff University (UK) where she completed her PhD (2008)
under the supervision of Dr M. P. Coogan and Dr A. J. Amoroso in the
area of luminescent MLCT complexes. After that, she started her first postdoctoral stay in the research group headed by Prof.
J.-C. Bünzli at the EPFL (École Politechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland). During this period she got
expertise in lanthanide chemistry, bioconjungation techniques and
biological assays. Thereafter, she joined Prof. Sylvia Draper group at
Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) where she spent another year working on
the area of supramolecular chemistry. In February 2011, she joined the
group led by Prof M. Concepción Gimeno at the ISQCH as an associate
researcher, where she stablished and co-lead a new research line
“luminescent metallodrugs as theranostic agents”. In 2020 she became a Ramón y Cajal Fellow at the University of Zaragoza.
